The Impending iPhone Subprime Crisis
rickyv:
Since there are no results on Google for this term, let me be the one to coin it.
The iPhone Subprime Crisis is what will happen as a result of Apple lowering the point-of-entry price of a new iPhone while increasing the overall cost of ownership over the two year term of the contract (up to $2700!).
People who thought they couldn’t afford an iPhone when they cost $400 now (falsely)...

I relearned what a comma splice is today, I hope i haven’t been using it in my writing.
…
It’s terms like comma splice and dangling modifiers that scare me away from professionally writing. How dare I even think about stringing together words without knowing [remembering] all of the rules that govern that practice?
As for us and now, the movie screen is traded for a computer screen, and the...

[note: i came up with the title for this post before i realized that what happened here was not really a “faux pas.” i am keeping it the same because i particularly enjoy the pun; even if it could translate to “fake obama.” a better title may have been Dyslexidential Candidate ]

Ben Fools.
Bed Folds has a new album, Way to Normal, coming out on September 30th.
Last week, nine tracks from the new album leaked to the internet via an anonymous user on benfolds.org.
Turns out, most of the songs are complete crap. And not like the fake Death Cab leak where someone retitled a Velveteen album as Narrow Stairs tracks on April fools, but actual crappy recordings from Folds himself.
Most...

this is going to be an on going look into the things that pop into my mind and i usually keep to myself but i thought i start sharing them with all of you.
Brian: Ledger’s death is a tragedy for the batman franchise
Me: Ledger’s death was natural selection aided by modern medicine.
this is a follow up to the Bush comment earlier.
Me: The Joker is so frightening because he'll blow up anything for little or no real reason at all.
David: Depending on who you talk to, that could also describe our president.

Its a trailer for a documentary about a fictional movie in an actual movie. I think my brain exploded trying to understand all the jokes. And that’s how I know its genius.

Its THE DARK KNIGHT month here at the Brianstorm! Lets keep it rolling!
Anticipating Green.
In this post, I talked about my three most anticipated movies of the summer; The Happening, Wall-E, and The Dark Knight.
So far, expectation control is sitting at .500. Worked wonders for Wall-E, and I don’t think anything could have saved The Happening.
However, Wall-E and The Happening share one thing in common: their pro-Gore [after all, Gore = Green] agenda. I’m not sure if the...

spelling z.
Lotta quotes lately…wonder if that means something significant in regards to my psyche. [sike ee?] For some reason when I see it typed like that I think the long e at the end shouldn’t be right. By the way, for many years I thought the “gotcha” version was spelled S-I-K-E. And, to be honest, some of me still holds on to that spelling.
